2009 (SOPHOMORE): Did not compete during the indoor or outdoor track seasons.
CROSS COUNTRY: Completed her second season...running for the Matador cross country team in the fall of 2008...finished a 2008 season-best 66th at the 6k Pepperdine Invitational in a time of 25:30.49...ran a 5k best time of 20:41.5 at the UC Riverside Invitational.
2008 (FRESHMAN): Did not compete during the indoor or outdoor track seasons.
CROSS COUNTRY: Ran a career-best 5k time of 19:21.0 at the UCR Invitational in 2007...finished 62nd in a time of 25:04.7 at the 2007 Big West Cross Country Championship.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Mira Costa High School...earned varsity letters in both track and cross country...named Most Outstanding Runner all four years (2003-07)...both the Mustangs’ cross country team and track & field teams won two league championships (2006, 2007)...also played soccer and was named team MVP as a freshman in 2003.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Cheryl and Michael Brandin...a business management major...has two younger sisters, Jessica and Kelsey and one younger brother, David ... was also recruited by San Francisco State, Sonoma State, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, soccer player Mia Hamm, the TV show “Greek”, the movie “Remember the Titans” and the band Green Day ... says the toughest thing about being an athlete is the injuries.
