2009 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent the 2005-06 season on the cross country and track & field teams at Fresno State...competed in the hurdles and multi-events in 2006...a Western Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete as well as the Fresno State Scholar Athlete...spent the 2006-07 season at the College of the Canyons...earned the Sophomore Runner of the Year Award and was All-State in both the heptathlon and 400 meter hurdles.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Hart High School in Newhall, Calif...competed in track & field, soccer and volleyball...set five school records (110 meter hurdles, 200 meters, 300 meter hurdles, 4x100 and 4x400 relays)...was a two-time track MVP and a two-time All-Santa Clarita Valley selection...was a four-time scholar-athlete...a two-time team captain and team MVP for the Indians’ soccer team...graduated with a 3.63 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Traci and Gilbert Ramirez...major is Exercise Science/Nursing...has three sisters, Celina, Colette and Caitlyn...both parents attended CSUN while Celina attended Cal Poly and Colette played volleyball at Virginia Tech and Memphis...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, the TV show “The Contender” and the movie “The Gladiator” ...says the best thing about being an athlete is the “constantcompetition against yourself”.
