OUTDOOR: Reached the final of the 400m at the Big West Championships...ran a time of the :49.77 to finish seventh in the final after running a season-best 48.99 in the prelims...ran the third leg of the 4x400 relay team that finished seventh in a season-best 3:18.58...clocked a season-best 1:58.26 in the 800m at the USC Trojan Quad Meet to finish seventh.
INDOOR: Finished 26th in the 400m at the MPSF Indoor Championship in a time of :50.45...clocked an indoor season-best :49.96 at the Boise State Team Challenge...ran an indoor best :23.13 in the 200m at the UW Invitational.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent 2009-10 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif...earned All-Orange Empire Conference honors in his two seasons...a two-year letter winner as a sprinter for coach John Knox.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Huntington Beach High School...competed in track & field, cross country and basketball...earned first team All-Sunset League honors for the Oilers as a senior in 2008...a two-time team captain...earned All-League honors in basketball and was MVP of the cross country squad...named Scholar-Athlete and had perfect attendance all four years...graduated with a 3.7 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Denise and Peter Carroll...major is Nutrition...has one older brother, Marques... favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, former Laker Magic Johnson, actors Will Smith and Sandra Bullock, the TV show "Top Chef" and the movie "The Blindside"...favorite website is espn.com...says the best thing about being an athlete is "staying in shape and competing" and the toughest is "managing workouts and school work"...once met hockey great Wayne Gretzky.
