2011 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Capped her sophomore season with a fifth-place finish in the 100m at the Big West Championships...ran a season-best 12.02 in the prelims before running :12.14 in the final...also qualified for the 200m final but did not compete...clocked a career-best time of :24.50 in the 200m at the Asics/Steve Scott Invitational...ran the third leg of the Matadors' 4x100m relay team than finished second at the conference championships in :46.13.
INDOOR: Finished 15th in qualifying in the 60m (:7.71) at the MPSF Indoor Championship...her time matches the top indoor time of her career...placed 21st in the 200m in lifetime-best :25.13...earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
2010 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Made her first trip to the NCAA West Region Championships as a member of Northridge's 4x100 relay team...the Matadors ran :45.86 and failed to advance out of the preliminary round...finished third in the 100m in her first Big West Championship...ran :12.08 in the final after clocking a season-best :11.88 in the prelims...placed sixth in the 200m running a season-best 24.52...ran the third leg of the conference champion 4x100m meter relay team that posted a season-best :45.34.
INDOOR: Ran an indoor season-best :7.71 in the 60m in the prelims of the MPSF Indoor Championship...posted a season-best in the 200m with a time of :25.20 in the prelims.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Charter Oak High School in Covina, Calif...competed as a sprinter for the track & field team...a four-year team captain...earned first team All-Miramonte League honors as well as team MVP honors for the Chargers...specialized in the 100 and 200 meters...graduated with a 3.0 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Linda Brooks and Randy Taylor...major is Kinesiology...has one sister, Shauntel who also attended the University of San Diego...was also recruited by Oklahoma, Fresno State and Arizona....favorites include the Denver Nuggets, former U.S. sprinter Marion Jones, actors Halle Berry and Tyrese and Mexican food...likes to chant as a pre-meet ritual...says the best thing about being an athlete is "getting fit and meeting new people."Â
